:: Introducing the city of Ramsar


As the most western city in Mazandaran province, Ramsar is located in North of Iran; the adjacency of the forest to the Caspian Sea conveys exquisite beauty. Located on the skirt of Alborz Mountain range and the stunning coastal area of Caspian Sea, Ramsar, known as the bride of Iranian cities, holds tourist attractions, accommodation as well as recreational facilities and is the most influential tourism hub in Iran. Ramsar, equipped with an airport, is known to have plethora of green and summer areas with waterfalls, warm mineral springs, jungle parks, caves, springs, lakes, conical peaks, citrus orchards, tea gardens, rice fields, historic monuments, Parsian Hotels as well as hundreds of accommodations and tourist resorts.
 


 

The Marmar Palace or Royal Palace and the old Ramsar Hotel are examples of National Cultural Heritage along the well-known Casino Boulevard are of Ramsar’s famous landmarks. Markooh Peak is one of the most important historic architectural symbols covered with dense vegetation beside other natural attractions like Jennat Rudbar village (Viper's-buglosses’s land), Dalekhani Forest, with an altitude of approximately 800 meters, covered with thick fog, the historic caves of Gargarluka, Yaghi luka, bam bame, shab pare chal and many peaks of Alborz mountain range; peaks like: Somamus, Sheytan kooh, Zarud kooh, Zarrin posht, Seh berareh, Siah kand, Daylaman, Bozabon kooh, Lapasar, Vozhak, Khashchal and Ilmili peak.

What makes Ramsar distinguished in the Middle East is the 1300-meter distance between the mountain and the Caspian Sea resulting in Mediterranean climate in Ramsar ecosystem. Ramsar has the most water resources among Iranian cities on account of a large number of mountains and constant rainfall because of its exquisite waterfalls and rivers like Safa rood, Siasarat, Azarak, Hisian, Lej va mij, Rashme darre, Ahsine, Armo. However, what renders Ramsar attractive to medical tourists is its seven warm water mineral springs with therapeutic and medical effects on skin diseases, rheumatic diseases as well as nerve and muscle pains.
 


Some of tourist facilities in Ramsar are beach resorts and Ramsar Green City Recreational Complex with the biggest cable car in Iran equipped with a complete range of recreational and tourism facilities like a hotel, 4-star cabins at an altitude of 700 meters on the Ilimili peak, 1000 Steps jungle park, an attractive amusement park, water sports clubs with jet ski rentals, parceling, boating, water skiing, yachting as well as other fascinating entertainment facilities such as paramotors, zipline, carting track, paint balling, varied food parks, shopping malls and service centers, different branches of banks and insurance agencies, a conference and a concert hall with the capacity of 2000 people and many more to draw more than 20 million Iranian and foreign tourists.
